In 2018, Trump ended aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), an agency created to help displaced Palestinians.

Now, the Biden Administration is helping bring an end to Trump era policies that harmed Palestinians and failed to advance peace. Although much more needs to be done to bring about real freedom and justice for Palestinians, the restoration of aid is crucial. The State Department has announced the restoration of at least $235 million in aid to Palestinians - of which one hundred and fifty million dollars will be in humanitarian aid to UNRWA.

Trump's decision to cut off aid was reprehensible and exacerbated the hardships of countless Palestinians in dire need of our help. We celebrate this reinstatement, which was one of the top asks of Emgage Action of then-candidate Joe Biden, and we are heartened to see this campaign promise fulfilled.
