Last year, everything changed. From the way we work to how we socialize to holiday celebrations. COVID-19 has gripped our nation and taken many of our loved ones far too soon. While the pandemic has been challenging for us all, we now have an opportunity to end the pandemic by getting vaccinated, and it’s our responsibility as citizens to do so, and to encourage our friends and family to as well.
Still, many Americans are understandably hesitant to get a vaccine which is not only new, but scientifically revolutionary. We rightly covet and guard our good health, even to the point sometimes of distrusting the medicines which actually best protect us. However, all of the authorized COVID-19 vaccines have been rigorously tested to meet the FDA’s standards for safety and effectiveness.
Already, millions of people in the United States have received COVID-19 vaccines, and the vaccine has proven safe and effective at keeping people from getting COVID-19 as well as from getting seriously ill if they do happen to contract the virus.
Contrary to some fears, none of the vaccines in use contain the live virus, meaning they cannot infect you with the disease. And for those concerned about the cost, the vaccine is offered for free. As supply increases in the coming months more and more Americans will be eligible for the vaccine, meaning for those who qualify, the time to get your shot is now. Make sure you’re registered, and help your friends and family get registered too.
With each new person vaccinated, we are one step closer to winning this fight. That’s one step closer to family reunions, one step closer to backyard barbecues, and one step closer to the lives we want for ourselves and for our children. Getting your vaccine isn’t just a way to help your country, it’s the best way to help yourself, your community, and your family.

We hope we’re able to count on you to #StandUp and encourage those around you to get vaccinated. After all, the sooner everyone is vaccinated, the sooner we can get together and continue to defend democracy.
