Dear parish social minister:
Last week, Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) hosted a webinar entitled "A Model for Faith Community Nursing," featuring programs associated with Catholic Charites of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and Catholic Charities Arkansas. A recording and associated slides are now available on the dedicated Parish Social Ministry Resources page on the CCUSA website.
Next Wednesday, April 14, two webinars of pertinence to parish social ministry will be featured:
- "Effective Strategies to Promote Domestic Abuse Awareness in Parishes," offered in collaboration with Catholics For Family Peace, from 3:00-4:00 EST, an announcement for which was sent previously. Click here for more information or to register
-
"Resourcing the Network for Food and Nutrition," from 2:00-3:00 EST, will feature Food Finder and CityServe, organizations which can assist parishes in addressing local food insecurity. See below for full information.

Join CCUSA for a webinar to explore Food Finder and CityServe organizations, two unique agencies that help connect families in their communities with the food they need. Food Finder is a nonprofit website and app with a directory of over 45,000 food pantries and school meal locations. City Serve is a collaborative network of churches and community leaders connected to helping feed people across several states. Leaders from both organizations will share information on their work in reducing food insecurity. Food Finder will demo their app which gives free information on food pantries across all fifty states and City Serve will review how they leverage partnerships to access fresh produce and food supplies and work through congregations as distribution hubs.
