This morning, President Biden announced a slate of executive orders to jumpstart the fight against gun violence. Some of the actions include:
1. Increased regulation of ghost guns and devices like the arm brace used in the Boulder shooting.
2. Guidance for states to implement extreme risk laws.
3. Annual reports from ATF on illegal firearms trafficking for the first time in 20 years.
We're so thrilled that President Biden is taking these actions, they are a big first step in the right direction.
We knew when he was elected that he would be a strong advocate for gun safety, and these actions show his commitment to making our communities safer.
President Biden is fulfilling his promise and taking immediate action to prevent gun violence. But we still need congressional action to ensure our long-term safety.
