The time is now for a bold new vision to transform our economy. We are currently facing not one crisis but multiple, interlocking struggles: a global pandemic, systematic racism, mass unemployment, and a climate emergency. This is not an accident or coincidence. We are here because we have an economy that relies on the pollution of our air and water. It is an economy that depends on CEOs and corporations extracting disproportionate amounts of wealth from workers and their communities. The time for change is now. It’s time to THRIVE: Transform, Heal, and Renew by Investing in a Vibrant Economy.
This year we can make this possible by passing the Climate and Community Investment Act (CCIA), which will #MakePollutersPay so New York can create tens of thousands of green jobs and cut pollution for the most impacted communities. At the federal level, we are fighting for the THRIVE Act, a transformational recovery and infrastructure package that would put 15 million people to work in good, union, family-sustaining jobs and advance racial, Indigenous, gender, environmental, and economic justice.
A vision for a just, equitable society is possible, but we need the support of a grassroots movement willing to fight for it. Tomorrow, Friday, April 9th, you can join us for a Climate Justice Town Hall with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and State Senate Deputy Majority Leader Michael Gianaris to discuss how we're going to build this movement, and pass ambitious climate justice legislation on both a state and federal level.

This town hall will wrap up our Climate, Jobs, and Justice Action Week: with dozens of lobby visits, rallies, and social media actions, we’ll be flexing our grassroots power to our state and federal elected officials. This town hall will be an opportunity to demonstrate this power and hear directly from our elected officials about the issues that matter to us.
