I've got two bits of good news for you, John:

1) Last week, a Swedish newspaper announced that it will stop taking adverts from oil companies. [1]
2) Today in the UK, the Royal Shakespeare Company officially dropped BP as a sponsor. [2]

Oil and gas companies have long used ad campaigns and sponsorship deals to clean the reputations of their climate-wrecking businesses. Those days are now clearly numbered! Let's use the momentum of these big wins to push all advertisers everywhere to drop oil and gas ads.

Join 75,311 others and tell advertisers you don't want to see ads for climate-wrecking oil companies:

Fossil fuels companies like BP created the climate emergency, and they're digging us deeper into it every day by continuing to dig for new oil and gas.

At the same time, they're bombarding the public with ads trying to convince us they're not the climate-wreckers we know they are. We can't let them get away with this anymore. Add your name and help make oil ads history.

Thanks for your support! More to come on this very soon.

Hi John – right now, BP are bombarding the public with greenwash ads, trying to convince us all they're not climate wreckers.

At the same time, they're out there digging up new oil and gas, and digging us deeper into the climate emergency. It's an absolute scandal that oil companies like BP are still advertising while we're tackling this crisis they've created.

Let's create a groundswell of massive public support to get oil company ads like these taken down for good. They have no place in our society anymore.

Add your name to show advertisers you don't want to see ads by climate-wrecking oil companies:

This is BP's biggest ad campaign in over a decade.[1] They've got billboards, magazine ads, tv ads, online ads – the lot.

These ads are greenwash, pure and simple. They make BP look like a renewable energy company when in reality they spend 97% of their money on fossil fuels.

BP are running these ads because they're worried. They've seen all those people out on the street demanding radical climate action, and they know their days digging for oil are numbered.

But they're fighting like hell to protect their dirty business for as long as possible – and advertising is a key part of their strategy. Let's make sure it doesn't work. Let's get rid of all oil and gas advertising for good.

Add your name so advertisers can see we want oil company ads taken down for good:

BP's business is a threat to hundreds of millions of people around the world. We already have far more oil and gas than our planet can afford for us to burn – and yet BP are still planning on spending $70 billion searching for new fossil fuels.

This year, tens of thousands of us have taken action against BP to force them to go 100% renewable or to shut down. We've blockaded their HQ, occupied their rig at sea, and flooded their social media pages with protest messages. Now let's take on their greenwash advertising.

Add your name if you agree that climate-wrecking oil giants like BP shouldn't be allowed to advertise anymore.

Thanks, John. I'll be in touch about this again very soon.
