Here's the thing about infrastructure, friend: it's incredibly important, but I've found it isn't always the most exciting conversation starter. (I confess — people tend to yawn when I bring it up.)

That said, President Joe Biden announced his infrastructure plan last week — the American Jobs Plan — and to put it plainly: it's a HUGE deal.

The American Jobs Plan is all about investing in America's infrastructure while supporting our communities and creating good-paying jobs in the process. It will modernize our highways, roads, and main streets, eliminate all lead pipes and service lines in our drinking water systems, bring affordable, high-speed broadband to every American, and MORE.

I've always been a proponent of infrastructure investments, and the American Jobs Plan is how we create good-paying jobs, build a greener future, and take vital steps to invest in our future. Will you join me in signing on as a grassroots sponsor of this historic plan?

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, it was clear America's infrastructure needed help; our roads, bridges, and water systems are crumbling, our electric grid is vulnerable to outages, and too many folks here in Washington and around the country still don't have access to affordable, high-speed internet.

America can't compete in a 21st-century economy with 19th and 20th-century infrastructure. I'm proudly supporting the American Jobs Plan so we can put people to work now, support our communities, and lay the foundation for long-term economic growth in our region.

Infrastructure has often been a bipartisan issue in the past, so I need your help showing the American people are fired up about this plan to build our nation back better. Sign on as a grassroots sponsor of the American Jobs Plan to show your support » [link removed]

It's an honor to serve you,

Derek
