Parker and Pennsylvania State Professor Erica Frankenberg discuss the history of discrimination and exclusion that resulted in the use of busing to desegregate schools and the ways that persistent segregation in education and housing limit opportunities for social and economic advancement of all students.

The persistence and increase in the level of racial and ethnic segregation and poverty concentration in American schools discussed during the podcast is just one of the many ways in which economic inequality and the absence of access to both fundamental needs and economic advancement continue to harm marginalized communities and individuals.
