Watching my son Julián in the Presidential debates last night was one of the proudest moments of my life.

Tonight, I’ll watch my son Julián take the Presidential debate stage.

I’m struggling to put into words what this means to me.

My mother came to this country as an orphan when she was just 7 years old.

She provided for us by cleaning houses. She never complained.

She took such pride in the opportunity to make a living in this great country.

And now, her grandson will be on the Presidential debate stage tonight. She never could have imagined this.

Julián’s campaign is about so much more than winning the Presidency -- it’s the product of my mother’s sacrifice -- it’s proof of the American Dream.

It’s about everyday Americans who deserve to be led by fellow everyday Americans.

It’s about leaders who will fight with everything they have for us -- because they are us.

I know every dollar is precious to your family.

That’s why it would mean so much to me if you could chip in $15 to my son’s campaign.

I hope I can count on your support:

No one like Julián Castro has ever been in the Oval Office. His grandmother immigrated here from Mexico when she was just 7 years old. She never got past the 4th grade, but she provided for her family by working as a maid and a housekeeper.

Now, her grandson is running for President of the United States. Against all odds, grassroots Democrats like YOU helped him qualify for the first debates and send him to the front of the pack of Democratic candidates.

We know we send you a lot of emails, but that’s because we’re relying on grassroots supporters to overcome our next big challenge:

Julián must reach 130,000 donors this summer to secure his spot on the Democratic debate stage.

Julián hasn’t qualified yet, and he’s not taking a cent of corporate PAC money. Will you help him get there?

Again, we know we send you a lot of emails. We hope you’ll stick with us long-term. If you want to stay updated but receive fewer emails, please let us know here. If you’d like to unsubscribe completely, we understand. Please unsubscribe here, and we’ll make sure to process your request.
