This is a very busy week, but I want to take a minute to update you on the exciting things happening at Country First. 

First, I'd like to share great news from Texas!  Last month, Country First endorsed Marine veteran and small business owner Michael Wood in the special election to fill the congressional seat for TX-06.  In a Republican district, he's been the only conservative voice willing to stand up and reject the conspiracies, lies, and cult of personality that threaten our democracy.  And now, the state's largest newspaper, the Dallas Morning News has followed suit and endorsed him, too!  This is a huge shot in the arm for Michael's campaign, and it's great to see the momentum growing as we head toward election day on May 1st.  Thank you to all those who have supported his candidacy!

Next, in case you missed it, I've been hosting a podcast called Country First Conversations with thought leaders each week, and most recently chatted with host and columnist S.E. Cupp.  We discussed the media landscape, the rise of opinion journalism, and the impact of both on our political system and national discourse.  You can listen to the podcast on our website and on every podcast network.  Just search for "Country First Conversations."  Subscribe, Rate, and Review if you enjoy the podcasts -- it helps the message get to more people. 

And finally, we are launching the first phase of a new project we're calling "Family Before Party," which was born from the thousands of messages we received when members of my extended family publicly disowned me for voting to impeach Donald Trump and claimed I was now part of the "Devil's Army."  In the wake of that drama, we learned that the political toxicity, conspiracies, and lies aren't just threatening our democracy, they are also causing deep and painful separation among families and close friends across the country.  We want to highlight this growing problem and help find solutions.  We welcome dialogue with anyone who is facing this situation in their own lives and would like to be part of the project -- just follow this link for more details on how you can be involved.
