Ticketed entry for the Going-to-the-Sun Road corridor begins summer 2021 ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Dear Friend,

Glacier National Park announced last week they will be transitioning to a temporary ticketed entry system for the Going-to-the-Sun Road corridor for this summer season. The goals of the program are to help manage congestion in the park, to respond to a slate of road construction projects scheduled in and around the park this summer, and to improve the visitor experience by helping remove uncertainty about access to the park.

The system will require a ticket for entry at the park’s West Glacier and St. Mary Entrances from 6am-5pm MT daily, May 28th to September 6th, 2021.

I wanted to touch base and provide you with some information and tools to help you navigate this new system.

Here are a couple of key points to keep in mind:

1)   Entry tickets are ONLY required for entry into Glacier Park via the West Glacier and St. Mary gates between the hours of 6:00am and 5:00pm, and only from May 28th to September 6th. Entrances to the park at Many Glacier, Two Medicine, Polebridge, or along U.S. Highway 2 will not need an entry reservation ticket.

2)   If you have a reservation at a lodging property, campground, or have an activity scheduled with a concessionaire inside the park – including boat rides, bus tours, horseback rides, or guided hike reservations – an entry reservation ticket is already included with your reservation, and you will not need an additional separate entry reservation ticket for the duration of your service reservation. Simply bring your reservation confirmation and a photo ID at park entrance stations upon arrival.

3)   Entry tickets will be available for purchase online at Recreation.gov beginning April 29th, 2021 for a $2 fee. You will still require a park pass in addition to your entry ticket.

Please spend some time reviewing the helpful links below. The park has put together a webpage including all details surrounding the new ticketed entry system, as well as road construction updates that outline the dates and scope of various road construction projects happening this summer. This information is also linked on our website at Glacier.org.

I hope this information is helpful to you. You are an important part of our Glacier family, and I want to make sure you have access to the tools you need as you plan to visit the park this summer.

We’re fortunate in this work to have great partners who are also working hard to provide you with the latest information, and I encourage you to keep an eye on websites like the one our friends at Glacier Guides & Montana Raft have put together, which provides a helpful vacation planner and FAQ page to help answer additional questions.

As always, if you have further questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to contact me on my cell at 406-431-7779 or via email at [email protected].

Thanks again for your continued support...past, present, and future.

Sincerely,

We are the official fundraising partner for
Glacier National Park.

With your support, we provide funding for vital projects and programs that preserve and protect the park for future generations.
