Hi there:

The Minnesota Senate is on the verge of passing a dangerous elections bill that takes us backwards.

Minnesota is #1 in the nation in voter turnout in large part because of our pro-voter laws like Election Day voter registration, a proven and popular part of our system that hundreds of thousands of people use every election.

The proposed law would gut it.

If you show up to register on Election Day, you would not really be registering to vote. You would be registering to put your ballot in a 'maybe pile' -- maybe it will be counted, maybe it won't. That’s not right.

We cannot allow our democracy to go backwards. Please sign on to tell the Senate to stop trying to make voting harder.

This proposed law is part of an ugly trend we've seen across America. In Georgia and Texas legislators have been leveraging disinformation about the 2020 election to make sweeping changes that would weaken voting rights. We can't let that happen in Minnesota.

I'll continue to do my part as Secretary of State to remove barriers to voting, and to make Minnesota's nation-leading election system even better. Join me and add your name to put a stop to voter suppression legislation in this state → [link removed]

Thanks for your help.

Steve
