Less than a month ago, Congress passed the historic American Rescue Plan, and it has made a huge difference in every community. We've accelerated the vaccine rollout, delivered tax credits and stimulus checks to struggling families, created jobs and helped American families recover.
But we're not done. We're still in this.
The coronavirus pandemic has been devastating for many friends, families and workplaces. The virus is still spreading, and we can take steps to continue to slow the spread.
While millions of Americans have been vaccinated or received their first shot, we must keep social distancing and wearing our masks to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. We also have to make sure our families and our community members are getting vaccinated.
Vaccine eligibility varies by state. We know that the vaccines are safe and effective. They're also saving lives. For information about your state's vaccine availability and to learn more about the COVID vaccines, please visit cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19.
All Connecticut residents over the age of 16 are currently eligible to receive the vaccines. Appointments must be made in advance at all clinics statewide. Visit ct.gov/covidvaccine and enter your zip code to find the nearest clinics. Connecticut residents can also subscribe to text message alerts from the state by texting COVIDCT to 888-777.
Let's finish this strong and continue to keep each other healthy and safe.
