Illinois Early Childhood Advocacy Week: April 12-16
#EarlyEdIsEssential
Calling all parents, early childhood providers and other advocates: Illinois Early Childhood Advocacy Week kicks off on Monday! Join us and our partners – Latino Policy Forum and Illinois Action for Children – as we come together virtually from April 12-16 to amplify the importance of early learning and care and thank the early childhood field’s front line workers – child care providers, home visitors, doulas and others – who have continued to support and provide for our youngest learners despite extremely challenging circumstances.
Advocacy Week marks approximately one year into a pandemic that has deeply affected children, families and early care and learning providers. Throughout the week, we will provide opportunities for providers, parents and caregivers to share with their legislators that early education is essential—now more than ever as we rebuild and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Each day of Advocacy Week, we will focus on a different, essential component of early learning and care:
-
April 12: Investing in the early years is essential.
-
April 13: Community voice is essential.
-
April 14: Workforce is essential.
-
April 15: Health and well-being are essential.
-
April 16: Family economic supports are essential.
