In the last few weeks, Sunrise has launched a new team of full-time fellows with a plan to build a huge network of young people in key swing states to knock on doors, make calls, and do absolutely everything we can to make sure November 3rd, 2020 is a historic victory for our generation.

Young people - Gen Z and Millennials - will together make up the largest bloc of eligible voters in 2020 -- which means that if we organize our generation to get out the vote, we could literally decide who is President in 2021.

The first phase of our plan focuses on shaping the Presidential primary by building a grassroots force in the first two states, Iowa and New Hampshire. We launched with 25 fellows this week, but want to expand to more states and grow to over 200 ahead of the general election - and that will take a big investment from our movement.

Can you chip in to help us grow the field fellow team and equip them with with housing, stipends, and canvassing materials they need to turn out the youth vote in 2020?

I got a chance to meet the field fellow team a few weeks ago. It’s a team of 25 now - but every one of those people has the brilliance, energy, and determination needed to make an enormous impact. In the coming months, I want to grow this team 10 times larger because I know there are thousands more young people like them looking for a chance to make an impact.

Over the next year, the field fellows will work in critical Presidential swing states. They’ll register over 100,000 young people to vote and make contact with millions of voters. They’ll also build mass volunteer teams to get out the vote for Presidential and Congressional candidates who run as Green New Deal champions.

This kind of work is hard. It will mean many long nights, and lots of hard conversations. But by giving this team the tools they need - from clipboards, to advanced canvassing apps, to just plain old food and meeting space - we can make a giant impact in the states that will determine who wins in 2020.
