Few things make me angrier than corporations and special interests putting profits over people and causing the health and well being of Washingtonians to suffer.

This is especially true today— World Health Day.

Whether it’s a medical device manufacturer that omitted serious risks in their marketing; pharmaceutical companies that fuel the opioid epidemic; or Republican Attorneys General who try to repeal the Affordable Care Act and leave 825,000 Washingtonians uninsured — I am determined to make sure their efforts fail.

It’s clear: corporations and special interests that sacrifice Washingtonians’ health for the sake of turning a profit must be held accountable. Add your name if you agree:

Any group that uses deceitful tactics — whether it’s McKinsey discussing ways for Purdue Pharmaceuticals to “turbocharge” sales of OxyContin or Boston Scientific failing to disclose serious health risks of its surgical mesh devices — will be held responsible.

Today on World Health Day, I am reminded that no matter how powerful or influential you are, everyone is accountable to the rule of law — especially when it comes to the health and well being of Washingtonians.

Thank you,
Bob
