Foundation for Child Development: Foundation News

** Join Us at the AERA 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting
------------------------------------------------------------
The Foundation for Child Development invites you to attend two sessions highlighting our work at the American Educational Research Association's 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting, April 8–12.

** Early Education for Emerging Multilingual Learners: Toward A Comprehensive and Inclusive Understanding of Quality
------------------------------------------------------------
Date and Time
Saturday, April 10, 2:30–4:00PM EDT

Description
In the United States, a significant and growing portion of children who attend preschool speak a home language other than English. Studies reveal the need for more effective approaches to examine and improve instruction to better support and prepare preschool children who are emerging multilingual learners. This paper symposium brings together three perspectives on the implementation of high-quality, linguistically-responsive classroom practice for early educators instructing young multilingual learners. Participate in a conversation about the possibilities for transforming education for a growing share of our nation’s youngest learners.

* Natalia Rojas, New York University
