SPRINGING INTO ACTION
Spring is upon us and along with the warmer weather, we're preparing to spring into action. Not only is the month of Ramadan upon us, but so are several opportunities for the Muslim community to take action on issues that are important to us.
First of all, MCN stands in solidarity with our Asian American brothers and sisters who have been enduring a wave of hate and discrimination since the beginning of COVID. MCN's Program Coordinator, Ali Kaba shared our solidarity in a press conference held by the Office of the Public Advocate.

Now is the time to take action and help support Resolution 1257 at the NYC City Council. This Resolution will help introduce training and resources to NYC public school teachers and students to deepen their understanding of NYC diverse religious and ethnic minorities. Education is the first step to help ensure we can combat hate and bigotry in our communities.

Feb. 26th, 2021 MCN's voter registration drive at Zeina Lorraine Masjid.
As NYC is introducing more universal access to the COVID-19 Vaccine, MCN hosted the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in an informational workshop on the vaccine. As many of our communities are apprehensive about taking the vaccine and many don't yet have access, this workshop outlines the city's approach to getting everyone vaccinated.
