The numbers are in, and it looks like we have a strong chance to unseat right-wing Rep. Lauren Boebert next year.
We've been blown away by what grassroots Democrats were able to accomplish in the 55 days between Kerry Donovan's campaign launch and the first FEC deadline. Kerry Donovan -- a Colorado rancher, state senator, and Boebert's challenger -- managed to raise $630,000, falling just $70,000 short of Boebert's headstart and corporate donors.
Boebert, a self-proclaimed fighter of “liberal lunatics,” represents the worst of the GOP. If voting to overturn the 2020 election results and absolve Donald Trump of his role in the Capitol riot weren't proof enough that Boebert doesn't care about the American people, she made it clear when she voted against the massive stimulus package that would help her own constituents survive the pandemic.
But Boebert is getting worried. She only won her seat by six points -- and Kerry Donovan is ready to flip it. In her words, “it's time for real leadership that will deliver results, not peddle in conspiracy theories.”
Democrats agree with Donovan, but this is going to be a tight race, John. If we're going to remove Lauren Boebert from the House and ensure Republicans don't retake the majority, we need to get ahead of Boebert's dark money machine.
