Governor Parson to Hold Press Conference at Springfield Mega Vaccination Site?

(JEFFERSON CITY, MO) ? On Thursday, April 8?at 8 a.m., Governor Mike Parson will hold a press conference in Springfield to kickoff the mega vaccination event at Missouri State University (MSU).

Governor Parson will be joined by U.S. Senator Roy Blunt, MSU President Clif Smart, Interim Springfield-Greene County Health Director Katie Towns-Jeter, and City of Springfield Mayor Ken McClure.

Key Messages

To help ensure a successful event, we ask that the media share the following message. Those receiving a vaccination are reminded to do the following:

  • Arrive on time for their appointment - please do not arrive early or late
  • Bring a photo ID
  • Bring the registration number that was emailed to them or provided when they scheduled their appointment

Logistic notes for media attending events:

  • Media should bring their credentials/IDs
  • Safety and privacy are priorities ? please follow directions given by on-site personnel and ask for permission prior to recording anyone in the vaccination area
  • Parking (follow local signage and directions)

Additional opportunities for COVID-19 vaccinations:

  • State-supported events are not the only vaccine clinics being held.
    • High throughput hospitals, pharmacies, local health departments, and other community providers receive the vast majority of the state's vaccine allotment and hold various vaccination clinics throughout the week.
    • Missourians can use the Vaccine Navigator to find additional vaccinators in their area or contact local health care providers directly.?
