Today is World Health Day, and it's time we get serious about maternal
health care. The truth is, millions of people across the globe lack
access to this essential care. In fact, nearly 300,000 women die each
year from preventable causes during pregnancy and childbirth.

Access to maternal health care is a fundamental human right. That's
why the Center and our partners have been at the forefront of the
global fight to strengthen legal protections for safe and respectful
maternal health care and ensure that human rights standards reflect
and address maternal health concerns.









We've been at this for years, and this work is only possible
thanks to the unwavering support of allies like you.

Today, on World Health Day, will you renew your support for the Center
for Reproductive Rights to ensure people around the globe have access
to the care they need?

Maternal mortality is public health and human rights crisis that
especially harms those already facing hardship and discrimination,
including racial and ethnic minorities, young people, those with low
incomes, and people living in rural areas.

We're working to help people around the world overcome obstacles to
maternal health care-obstacles which have only been exacerbated
by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are documenting and sharing resources on
the impact of the pandemic on maternal health, drafting legislation to
address COVID-related maternal health issues, and coordinating pro
bono legal support for providers to help them navigate this new
landscape.

We're continuing our efforts to improve access to high-quality and
non-discriminatory maternal health care-during the pandemic and
beyond.
