John, we need to hold the MI GOP accountable.

Joking about assassinating Republican members of the House that they disagree with, calling our elected state leaders “witches,” and saying they should be “burned at the stake” is unacceptable and dangerous.

MI GOP Chair and U of M Regent Ron Weiser should have known better, but we’ve seen this again and again from high-ranking Republican leaders and elected officials. Just look at former President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey.

From the beginning of this pandemic, Trump and Shirkey have teamed up to attack Governor Whitmer for doing her job to keep us safe. They know they’re going to have a tough fight in 2022, so they rely on petty insults and dangerous rhetoric to rile up their base.
