It’s only been two months since the start of our federal Democratic
trifecta (if you can believe it) -- and the momentum Indivisibles are
building is leading more and more senators to come out in favor of our top
democracy reform priorities. Sens. Warnock and Tester have both recently
signed on as cosponsors of the D.C. statehood bill, with Sen. Ossoff
announcing his support as well. And the right wing is terrified of what
democracy reform represents -- so they’re going all out in Congress and
state legislatures to curtail voting rights, bolstered by $24 million from
the Heritage Foundation alone, according to the New York Times.^1

Meanwhile, Sen. Angus King penned an op-ed in the Washington Post^2,
writing, “All-out opposition to reasonable voting rights protections
cannot be enabled by the filibuster; if forced to choose between a Senate
rule and democracy itself, I know where I will come down.”

With members of Congress in their home districts for recess these last two
weeks, activists are working hard to build even more pressure to make the
most of this fleeting trifecta moment. Here are just a few of the things
we’re doing to support activists and drive momentum for democracy reform:

* Running hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of ads, from targeted
digital buys to radio and newspaper ads.
* Creating toolkits and sending merch directly to local Indivisible
groups to make their events and local activism even more effective --
think 51-star flags, social media graphics, and more.
* Making videos, writing resources, and building plans to get the word
out and make sure every Indivisible is prepared to talk about the
importance of democracy reform and the key steps to making it happen.

Our $710,000 investment in our For the People Project is all about using
all these tactics and more to push for transformative democracy reform.
