I wanted to reach out and thank you for helping my team reach our critical quarterly deadline last week. Not going to lie, you all stepped up big time and now my team is in a great place to continue expanding our efforts in the coming months.
Which leads me to circling back on a group I introduced you to last month, Democracy HUBS. Democracy HUBS is Groundwork’s mission in action right here in Massachusetts.
It’s a network of six community organizing collectives centered in our communities of color and working-class cities. They meet voters where they are, taking on issues that really matter to the local community, whether that’s a pipeline expansion or anti-housing zoning laws. They register, educate, and engage voters, slowly and intentionally building civic power for people that our “traditional” democratic process has failed to include.
If you are like me and are already sold that dramatic investment in community organizing is the single best way to remedy injustice, build power in disenfranchised communities, and create a more inclusive, representative and successful Democratic Party, then I need you to step up now.
Contribute here to help Democracy HUBS hit their strategy budget for 2021. I have a goal of helping them raise $25,000. Think we can do it? Contribute now!
Thanks,
Joe
P.S. I’m working with Democracy HUBS on a virtual event for next week. Be on the lookout for those details. In the meantime, contribute to this amazing mission here.
