We’ll start with the good news. Our movement just celebrated a major win
in Nevada. Last month, a coalition of progressive DSA candidates swept all
five leadership positions in the Nevada Democratic Party elections.

These candidates ran on a progressive platform and the promise of
reforming the party from the inside out. That includes organizing 365 days
a year, investing in outreach to immigrant communities and communities of
color, and using the party as a vehicle not just to win elections, but to
advocate for policies like climate action and health care for all.

The bad news is that in response to their victory, the state party’s
establishment staff all resigned and transferred $450,000 out of the party
before the new leadership took over.

Now, we have a team of progressive allies in Nevada who are ready to
transform the Democratic Party in their state. But they are facing limited
resources and a depleted bank account. We need them to succeed — and we
need to have their backs.

That’s why we’re asking:

Democratic Party today? Together we can raise back the $450,000 that
establishment forces transferred out of the party and make sure our
progressive allies succeed in their new roles.

They’ve set a fundraising goal of $450,000 to replace the money that was
transferred so they can invest in the organizing work that got them
elected – including outreach to rural communities, Latino voters, and
working people.

Their goals are to grow the party from the bottom-up and invest in county
parties across the state as well as local caucuses.

With this new leadership and enough resources, Nevada can be an example
for the rest of the country and show that a Democratic Socialist Party is
not only possible, but inevitable with consistent grassroots fundraising
and organizing.

forces transferred out of the party before the new progressive leadership
took office.
