Dear Friend,
For the past 20 years, the Clinton Foundation and partners have been committed to improving lives and addressing the urgent needs facing our country. Here are 7 things to know and share from the Clinton Foundation community:

1. As part of the Clinton Foundation’s work to advance an inclusive recovery, President Clinton launched a new Action Network to address economic disparities amid the COVID-19 pandemic. At the launch, he was joined by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Rockefeller Foundation CEO Raj Shah, and more economic trailblazers to discuss the power and impact of Community Development Financial Institutions. See his announcement and learn more about the new Action Network here. ([link removed])

2. Last month, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, and Chelsea Clinton hosted the 2021 meeting of CGI University, where college students launched more than 400 new student Commitments to Action to address the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, systemic racism and social justice, food insecurity, and other pressing global issues. Program highlights included conversations with Vice President Kamala Harris, Stacey Abrams, a virtual Day of Action service project, and more. Watch highlights from the event ([link removed]) and learn about the student leaders taking action on pressing challenges in their communities.

3. Through the Foundation’s Inclusive Economic Recovery Action Network, Chelsea Clinton recently hosted "COVID-19 Vaccines: Ending the Pandemic, Restarting the Economy." The event brought together leaders from across industries and sectors to outline their visions and solutions for effective and equitable vaccine distribution. Featured participants included Bechara Choucair, M.D. of the White House COVID-19 Response Team and Mayor Robert Garcia of Long Beach, California. Watch the full program here ([link removed]) .

4. Since the start of the pandemic, the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock has worked to help those in need in the community, including working with World Central Kitchen, the City of Little Rock, and other partners to serve more than 700,000 meals to those in need in Central Arkansas. Read more about our efforts to address food insecurity in Arkansas here. ([link removed])

5. Overdose deaths have spiked during the pandemic as people struggling with substance use disorders have found it more difficult to see a doctor and more alienated from their loved ones and support systems. During the pandemic, the Clinton Foundation’s Opioid Response Network has accelerated our work to distribute the lifesaving drug naloxone, which can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Read more in USA Today about how we’ve worked with partners to distribute over 150,000 doses of naloxone to recovery homes in less than a year. ([link removed])

6. The Foundation’s programs have worked to advance child literacy during the pandemic — including Too Small to Fail working with local and national partners to distribute more than 50,000 children’s books and essential items such as diapers and baby formula to parents, caregivers, and educators in need; and the Clinton Presidential Center hosting a series of children’s book authors for virtual storytimes, including Shana Corey hosting a special reading of "My Little Golden Book About Ruth Bader Ginsburg." Watch the whole storytime here. ([link removed])

7. Across the Clinton Foundation, our programs have stepped up to address emerging and urgent needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic — including getting resources to parents and caregivers about remote learning, tips to keep children healthy at home, and public health guidance to faith leaders. Read an exclusive interview with our CEO, Kevin Thurm, in Devex from October 2020 amid the pandemic, about how we’ve been responding across the Foundation. ([link removed])
