Folks, Georgians came out in historic numbers to send Joe Biden to the White House and two Democrats to the Senate, including Raphael Warnock, who is running for re-election back-to-back to defend his seat.

Now, Republicans are doubling down on their efforts to suppress voting rights and take back power in Washington — with Georgia’s governor Brian Kemp recently signing an outrageous voter suppression bill into law.

This harmful new law will make it harder for millions of Georgians to cast their ballots. It imposes harsh voter ID rules, limits ballot drop boxes, shortens runoff elections, and makes it a crime to give folks food or water who’ve been standing in line for hours just waiting for their chance to vote. It’s Jim Crow 2.0.

But that’s not even the worst of it — and it’s not just Georgia. Republicans have introduced more than 250 harmful voter suppression bills in 43 states , and they’re not showing any signs of slowing down. This is a coordinated attack on our right to vote and a direct response to the historic voter turnout we saw in this election.

The truth is, Republicans think that when fewer people — especially communities of color — vote, the better their chances are of winning. That’s why they’re pulling out all the stops to restrict voting rights, especially in Georgia, where we have a critical Senate race that could determine whether we keep our majority or lose it.

Raphael and I are doing everything in our power to expand voting rights at the federal level and stop anti-democratic bills like these from making their way through state legislatures. But we need your help.
