John,
Civil rights laws provide protections based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and religion. However, federal law does not explicitly protect individuals from discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
LGBTQIA+ Americans are being denied basic legal protections in states across the country due to the lack of comprehensive federal non-discrimination laws.
Join us on Thursday and hear from many of the community leaders who have been on the frontlines pushing for change. We will be joined by Congresswoman Sharice Davids (KS-03); Ericka Dixon from the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs; formerly undocumented activist Rodrigo Velasquez; writer, transgender activist, communications consultant, and military veteran, Charlotte Clymer; and Paris Hatcher from Black Feminist Future. Read about them here.
Register to attend on Thursday at 5PM ET
