There’s a war going on to destroy YOUR voice in our elections.

First, Democrats opened an impeachment inquiry into President Trump to try and overturn the 2016 election.

Now, a so-called “open primary” amendment modeled after California’s corrupted system is being proposed to the Florida Constitution that would ABOLISH the Republican primary for governor, cabinet officers, and the state legislature.

Party primaries serve as a necessary check on the establishment and ensure that YOUR voice isn’t silenced by special interests and political consultants. We MUST fight this proposed amendment.

This proposed amendment would force candidates of all parties to compete in one massive primary. The top two vote-getters would advance to the general election.

If the Republican Party is especially energized like ours was during President Trump’s ascent in 2016, we could have many candidates running in an election, while the Democrats only have a few.

But with so many Republicans running, our share of the vote would get splintered while the top two Democrats would advance to the general election, leaving NO Republican candidate on the ticket come November.

Republican voters are happy with our primary process. It was through our existing primary process that we just nominated our incredible governor, attorney general, and chief financial officer.

So why on earth would we import a broken California policy to replace our functioning primary system?

We absolutely need to strike down this amendment.
