Jack --

Last week, President Biden announced the details of the American Jobs Plan, a major clean energy and climate infrastructure package, which was a centerpiece of the economic recovery agenda promised during his campaign.

This is a historic opportunity to create green infrastructure and thousands of green jobs, 40 percent of which would go to disadvantaged communities. The American jobs plan calls for investments to retrofit homes and schools, protect the power grid, food systems and hospitals, and provide clean drinking water to low-income communities.

The American Jobs Plan is also a climate plan with the goal of transitioning the country to 100% renewable energy by 2035. It would transition the US to electric vehicles, and ensure every school bus switched from dirty diesel fuel to electric.

All of this taken together would save billions of dollars in damage caused by climate disasters like wildfires, droughts, hurricanes and sea level rise.

The fight is just beginning, and there is still much work to be done to make sure the American Jobs Plan becomes law, but the GiveGreen team wants to take a moment to thank all of you for getting us this far.

Defeating Trump and electing President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris was the most important objective to confront the climate crisis last cycle. GiveGreen donors rose to the occasion, delivering groundbreaking support for the Biden-Harris ticket, raising over $20 million donors and hosting 72 events.

Our partners will be working with GiveGreen champions in the US House and Senate to help fight for this once in a generation opportunity to put us on the path to 100% clean energy. But in the meantime, let’s celebrate that we have already come so far from where we were even just one year ago.

And that is because of this community.

Onward,
The GiveGreen Team
