Jack, Facebook cannot have it both ways.
They cannot denounce the January 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol, pledge to stop funding GOP traitors and then give $50,000 to a Republican committee pushing voter suppression laws. But they did.

Facebook is not alone. A lot of corporations spoke out against the treasonous attack on the U.S. Capitol after January 6, and said they were suspending donations to the Republicans who nearly overturned a fair and free election.
But a few weeks later when most people stopped paying attention, companies like Intel, AT&T and Cigna donated to GOP leadership PACs—which go to support many of these same Republicans who aided and abetted the insurrection.
Facebook is now taking it to a whole new level. Less than two months after the January 6 attacks, they gave $50,000 to the Republican State Leadership Committee—which helps elect GOP state legislators across the country.
These are the same Republican state legislatures that have introduced hundreds of voter suppression bills, which are based on the lie that Democrats "stole" the last election. The same voter suppression bills that have been condemned by many large corporations.
Facebook and other corporations need to be serious about challenging the hostile attack on our democracy. They cannot use back-channel political action committees to fund those who aided and abetted the January 6 attacks, nor can they keep funding GOP politicians who endanger our democracy every day.

After the January 6 attacks on the U.S. Capitol resulted in five deaths and came dangerously close to overturning a free election, corporations stopped donating to Republican politicians who had aided and abetted the insurrection by contesting the electoral vote count.
Several weeks later, a few have quietly started donating again—through the political action committees (PACs) of these very same Republican traitors.
Intel originally declared "we will not contribute to members of Congress who voted against certification of the Electoral College results as we feel that action was counter to our company's values." But on February 26, the Intel PAC made a $15,000 contribution to the National Republican Campaign Committee, the campaign arm for House Republicans.
Sign the petition to corporate donors: No sneaky loopholes. Defunding the GOP traitors means defunding. You must permanently stop donating to their PACs.

AT&T and Cigna have likewise skirted around their public pledge to not reward politicians who enabled the insurrection, by instead donating to a PAC that happens to be run by the same Republicans. This is intolerable, and we need to call them out on it.
Corporate donors cannot have it both ways. They cannot denounce the January 6 attack on our democracy and those who enabled it, and then keep funding the Republican seditionists. They need to make a clean break with such behavior, once and for all.

Our message to Intel, AT&T, Cigna and all other corporations:
You cannot denounce the January 6 attack on our democracy and those who enabled it, and then keep funding the Republican seditionists indirectly through their leadership PACs. You need to make a clean break with such behavior, once and for all.
