Friend,
I was a police officer for thirteen years, and the most heartbreaking cases I worked were those involving domestic violence and sexual assault. I know from experience that the Violence Against Women Act saves lives.
Reauthorizing this important, bipartisan legislation shouldn’t be controversial. The reauthorization will fund critical resources like rape crisis centers, hotlines, tools for law enforcement, and legal services and housing for survivors.
Friend, the Violence Against Women Act first passed in 1994 with bipartisan support, and since then it has made a large impact in the effort to eradicate violence against women in this country.
Will you add your name to tell your Senators to reauthorize this lifesaving legislation?
Thank you.
