People For Member,

Just last week, President Biden unveiled an exciting and historic first round of judicial nominees, underscoring his commitment to building a diverse bench of qualified, fair-minded judges with a commitment to equal justice under the law.

And the Far Right has wasted no time in launching their campaigns to derail these nominees after spending years filling the courts with right-wing ideologues.

Sign the petition now and urge the Senate to swiftly confirm President Biden’s circuit court nominees! >>

President Biden has nominated three outstanding Black women for circuit court judgeships: Ketanji Brown Jackson for the DC Circuit (which is often seen as a steppingstone to the U.S. Supreme Court); Candace Jackson-Akiwumi for the Seventh Circuit, and Tiffany Cunningham for the Federal Circuit.

Ketanji Brown Jackson brings to the bench the critically important experience of having served as an assistant federal public defender, representing people who were accused of crimes but who couldn’t afford a lawyer. Candace Jackson-Akiwumi has devoted most of her career to serving defendants in poverty accused of federal crimes. As a public defender, Candace has represented more than 400 clients. And Tiffany Cunningham is a highly experienced attorney who has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best lawyers in her field.

These women are highly credentialed and accomplished; and they will also bring to the bench a lived experience and perspective that is sorely lacking from our federal courts. This is an incredibly exciting and historic moment for our courts and our democracy.

Tell the Senate to act now by immediately considering these nominees and confirming them to the federal judiciary! >>

Mitch McConnell and other Far Right members of the Senate are going to do everything they can to stonewall President Biden’s judicial nominees, but after the past four years of confirming over 200 of Trump’s extremist nominees to the federal judiciary it’s time we push back!

Join us in calling on the Senate to confirm these nominees as quickly as possible >>

Thanks for all that you do,

In solidarity,

Zach, People For the American Way
