As we mark the start of National Public Health Week, I want to share an update with you about the pandemic relief we can expect from the American Rescue Plan.

In addition to providing thousands of dollars in direct aid and tax relief to millions of working families, the ARP will bring $16 billion to support local governments across our state and billions more to bolster our health care system, distribute vaccines, and help our schools reopen safely.

The American Rescue Plan is a giant step forward in our efforts to defeat COVID-19, support our essential workers, and get our economy back on track.

John, this is great news.

As long as we all continue to do our part -- including following guidance from the CDC and other public health experts -- an end to this pandemic is in sight.

That's why I'm urging everyone to get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you're eligible -- it is a critical step that will help us get back to life as normal.
