John,

Last week, Indigenous youth leaders from across the country kicked off the Build Back Fossil Free Week of Action with several actions across the nation calling on Biden to shut down the Dakota Access and Line 3 pipelines.

Now, we’re up against a critical timeline. In just 3 days (on April 9), the U.S. District Court of Appeals will decide whether to shut down Dakota Access while the environmental review is underway.

Shutting down the pipeline would provide immediate relief from a potential spill and get us one step closer to shutting it down permanently.

We must amplify the demands of Indigenous youth now and call on Biden to act. Here’s how you can help:

1. Share the video from the D.C. actions and tag @POTUS on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Just like they did in 2016, Indigenous youth ran from Standing Rock to Line 3 all the way to Washington D.C. to deliver petitions to President Biden.

They delivered our collective 400,000 signatures to stop Line 3 and Dakota Access to the Army Corps of Engineers headquarters and held a huge rally in front of the building.

The rally included a 300-foot “black snake” symbolizing the pipeline and Lakota prophecy that a black snake will appear desecrating sacred sites and poisoning the water.1

Indigenous water protectors also marched to the White House and projected our message onto the side of the Army Corps of Engineers building.

These actions were a powerful display of the movement that was sparked five years ago at Standing Rock. Led by the youth and Indigenous water protectors, our call for bold climate action and Indigenous sovereignty is stronger than ever. But in order to win, we must keep showing up and speaking out.

Whether you can join an in-person event or share the video, every action puts more pressure on President Biden to #BuildBackFossilFree and stop these dirty pipeline projects.

Please be a part of this Week of Action by watching and sharing the video or finding an action near you before this crucial decision on Friday.

Together, we will win.
