John,
Three months ago, fueled by lies perpetrated by Trump, a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol, putting lawmakers and Capitol staff in danger. This premeditated attempt to overturn a free and fair election was also an attack on our rights as voters. Today, we ask you to join us in remembering the lives lost and commit to achieving justice for the victims.
At least 15 Republican state legislators were part of the insurrection. These same legislators are part of a coordinated group working to pass voter suppression laws in states across the country.
Instead of changing course after the January 6th attack and apologizing, Republican state legislators are codifying Trump’s Big Lie into law by reducing the number of days to vote early and requiring ID to vote from home. GOP legislators who lied about the 2020 election results, some of whom stormed the Capitol themselves, are passing these laws that will suppress the vote of people of color.
It’s horrifying that Republican lawmakers participated in and egged on the attack, and are now in positions of power creating laws in the name of “election security.” The harm to our democracy is continuing long after the attack.
I am deeply concerned that in the next election there will be something worse than an attempted insurrection -- there can be a successful insurrection through voter suppression of vulnerable communities across the country.
Vote From Home will not stand for these attacks on our democracy. We will hold them accountable. We are working to stop their anti-democracy bills. Please become a Vote From Home supporter.
We will never forgive President Trump, the Congresspeople, and the leaders of the movement for inciting this attempted insurrection.

Please join us in remembering the late Officer Brian Sicknick, Officer Howard Liebengood, Officer Jeffrey Smith. We also ask that you keep the United States Capitol staff in your thoughts - from the security officers, the legislative aides, to the janitorial staff.
Thank you,
Suzy Smith
