Donate Today Just When We Thought She Was Out, Boebert Pulls Us Back In Representative Boebert Previously Called for the Capital Security Fence to Be Torn Down, Now It Helped Prevent Further Loss of Life Early last Friday morning, tragedy once again struck the nation's capital when a violent terrorist attempted to breach the US Capitol perimeter, resulting in the death of one Capitol Police Officer and injury of another. The CTP staff mourns the tragic loss of the Capitol Police officer that lost his life defending the Capitol and those who work there. Our hearts go out to the other officer who was wounded at the scene. In our moments of quiet reflection, we cannot help but be thankful for the security fence currently encasing the US Capitol. However, many are still calling for the wall to be torn down, and we are reminded of the attack ad Representative Boebert's campaign posted just weeks ago. In her attack ad, Rep. Boebert calls on Speaker Pelosi to "tear down" the security fence surrounding the Capitol. Representative Boebert, who is a vocal pro-gun advocate, stated that the security fence exists so Democrats can "protect themselves," not the "American people." Boebert's video remains both reckless and wrong-- the security fence protected countless American people inside the Capitol that day. The fence, along with the presence of Capitol Police officers on duty, prevented further loss of life from taking place. Now we must ask Representative Boebert to do the same: stop worrying about the Capitol security fence and start worrying about issues that affect Coloradans.
