Friend,
Nationwide (according to the Brennan Center) 361 bills have been introduced in 47 states to restrict voting rights since March 24th. That’s a 43% increase in a month!
And Pennsylvania is no exception. In our Commonwealth alone, we face 30 different bills to restrict the right to vote — proposed by the very same lawmakers who demanded that we ignore the will of the people and reinstall Donald Trump after he lost.
They masquerade these attacks as "election integrity," knowing that they're targeting those who would unseat them from power given greater access to the ballot box.
It’s never been more important to enact voting rights protections at the federal level to safeguard our democracy and civil rights. So, if you're with Mad in the fight to expand access to the ballot box, add your name to hers here.
H.R.1 is just one piece of legislation that Mad knows can help voters — a set of national voter registration and mail-in voting standards, nonpartisan redistricting commissions, big changes in campaign finance law, and new ethics rules for public servants — all of which would help curb suppression efforts across the country.
We hope you join Mad in the fight to protect the right to vote.
Thank you,
Team Dean
