350 Chicago Monthly Meeting – Greenline Homes
Next up, we will have our monthly meeting with guest speaker Benjamin Van Horne, founder of Greenline Homes on April 10 at 10:00am CST.
Greenline Homes of Chicago builds high-performance urban homes that are well-designed, sustainable, highly energy-efficient, ultra-comfortable, simple to maintain, and beautiful. They are building without displacement in former "redlined" and disinvested areas, mainly in Bronzeville and Woodlawn. They build net zero energy homes that produce more energy than they consume — through solar energy, high levels of insulation, air sealing, and carefully selected mechanicals and appliances — to deliver a better quality of life and at lower cost for homeowners and communities.
Join us to hear more about the structure of their homes and Greenline’s mission in Chicago.

Impact Team presentation on Illinois Community Solar
We have a bonus monthly meeting in April! On Wednesday, April 14 at 7:00pm CST. Andrew from the Impact Team at Common Energy will be presenting to us about Illinois Community Solar.
The Impact Team is a collective of young people working to promote community solar. Community solar is a state-sponsored program that helps replace fossil fuels in the electrical grid with solar energy. The way the program works is that individuals sign up to support a solar farm, and then this solar farm sends solar energy into the grid. The program is completely free. It is a great way to divest from fossil fuels in our electrical grid!
While the presentation will be purely educational about community solar, the Impact Team are part of Common Energy (https://www.commonenergy.us/), which is a community solar provider and are able to sign people up to support community solar! They are registered as a community solar provider in Illinois here: https://illinoisshines.com/approved-vendor-info/
