Dear Friend,

Together, we can do more to end the drug war. Thanks to dedicated supporters like you:

=====We got New York and New Mexico to become the 16th and 17th states to legalize marijuana for adult use and begin to repair the harms of prohibition.

=====We claimed victory in Oregon, which became the first state in the nation to decriminalize the personal use and possession of all drugs, while expanding access to treatment and other health services.

=====We got the MORE Act passed in the House. It’s the first comprehensive marijuana reform legislation to deschedule marijuana – and the only one centered in reparative justice – to pass either chamber of Congress.

=====We worked with a coalition of partners to get Congress to repeal the “drug question” that made students ineligible for federal financial aid if they had been convicted of a drug crime and reinstated Pell Grants for people behind bars.

This work requires effort, every day of the year, on multiple fronts. In fact, despite these recent victories, last month the White House still fired five staffers because of their past marijuana use. They defended their decision by saying “it is still illegal federally.” We need marijuana justice. And that’s why we need 42 new Reformers.

We will not let harmful drug war policies like this stand. One person is still arrested nearly every minute simply for possessing marijuana, saddling people with lifelong burdens that make it harder to get a job, an apartment, student financial aid, or a credit card.
