Vaccine eligibility timeline ratchets up in DC, Maryland

All residents ages 16 and up will soon be eligible for vaccines in both DC and Maryland. Maryland officials announced that eligibility expands today at mass vaccination sites and by April 12 at pharmacies. Baltimore council passes bill allowing security deposit alternatives

Baltimore’s City Council has passed a controversial bill that would require some landlords to offer tenants two security deposit alternatives: paying the deposit in three monthly installments or purchasing “rental security insurance.” Tenant advocates say the insurance option, typically a surety bond, is nonrefundable and still leaves tenants on the hook for damages.  (Emily Opilo and Christine Condon / Baltimore Sun)

Washington Teachers’ Union president dies after car crash

Elizabeth Davis, head of the Washington Teachers’ Union since 2013, died at age 70 after a car crash Sunday night in the Bowie area. Annapolis musician John Starr, 68, also died in the crash.  (Perry Stein and Dana Hedgpeth / Post)
