Like many of you in the last year, I've been working from home. When I do come into the Poynter offices, I am usually alone. I don't need headphones for my Zoom calls. I get good parking. I still follow the directions to announce my presence as I enter the stairway in case someone is coming. They aren't.
But soon, this will change! More of my colleagues are getting vaccinated. My new hires want to come in to the building for training. We're staring down some logistical, cultural shifts — and we're all making it up as we go.
As we recreate our workplaces in real-time, Poynter is hosting a four-part conversation series about the newsroom of the future.
What have we learned over the last 12 months? What have we lost? What was gained? And how will we use the insights learned to move forward?
In the first conversation on Wednesday, April 7, Poynter senior faculty Joie Chen will speak with Emily Barr, president and CEO of Graham Broadcasting, and Kristen Hare, editor of Locally at Poynter. I encourage you to register now to attend this first session for free ([link removed]) , thanks to support from the Knight Foundation. Get inspired, connected and prepared for what's coming up next in the newsroom.
For what else is next at Poynter, keep scrolling!
