Dear Conservation Voter,
This Earth Day I’ll be doing one of my favorite activities with some of my favorite people—and canines!
My husband, Charles, our two grown kids, our son-in-law, and our two Springer Spaniels, Bingley and Barrington, are going to hike the Fly Rod Crosby Trail, conserved by the Land for Maine’s Future program, along Orbeton Stream.
Charles has worked on land conservation in the western Maine mountains, and we are looking forward to sharing with our family why that area is so special. Charles and Charlie Jr. are both avid fly fishermen, so they’ll also do a little scouting!
All that fun and I am supporting the good work of Maine Conservation Voters with a donation while advocating for the Land for Maine’s Future (LMF) program!
I hope you’ll join me by registering today for your own Earth Day hike on an LMF site.

Participating in this event is important now because the Land for Maine’s Future program is out of funds and needs the legislature to vote for an LMF bond to go on the ballot in November. I believe that conserving Maine’s land is both environmentally and culturally important. I want to do my part to let more people, including my elected representatives, know about the good that the LMF program does to protect Maine’s woods, water, and wildlife.
I hope you will consider joining in on this fun with a purpose this Earth Day! Together, we can protect land for current and for future generations of Mainers.
Thank you,
- Gina
