In 2016, President Trump benefited from Russia interfering in our elections. Now, it appears he is using the same playbook to try to win in 2020.

John, I've sworn to defend our country and our Constitution. The notion that someone who has taken a similar oath would withhold critical and congressionally appropriated aid from a foreign ally to dig up dirt on a political rival is completely unacceptable. And the notion that President Trump -- the highest-ranking elected official in our country -- would do such a thing is beyond the pale.

The American people deserve the whole truth.

It is our duty to uphold the oaths we have taken. That's why Congress has an obligation to get the facts and get to the bottom of these recent troubling discoveries. The President cannot continue to stonewall Congress by refusing to turn over the information and documents we are entitled to by law. He, and his administration, must comply.

John, no one is above the law. Not even the president.
