John,

Last election, Black voters helped Democrats win back the White House, Senate, and hold on to the House majority. But when Republicans saw the results of this free and fair election, they decided they wanted to change the rules in order to hold on to power.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp recently signed a voting bill aimed at silencing the voices of Black communities in our political process. This bill went so far as to make it illegal to offer snacks and water to voters waiting in line.

But voter suppression isn't just an issue in Georgia. So far this year, over 360 bills have been introduced to restrict voting rights in state legislatures across the country, including in critical swing states like Michigan, Arizona, and Florida.

These bills are a blatant example of voter suppression, and we need to take action right away to stop it.

Last term, Kim and her colleagues passed the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act and earlier this year they passed H.R. 1, the For the People Act. Both of these bills will help ensure that the voices of all Americans are heard by preventing discrimination, ending partisan gerrymandering, providing automatic voter registration, increasing ballot box access, and so much more.

We need to take action and pass these crucial pieces of legislation to protect voting rights before it's too late. If you agree it's time we protect every American's right to vote, add your name to stand with Kim today >>
