Huge news friends, We’re excited to share with you that Lydia just received the endorsement of the AFL-CIO — the first statewide endorsement of the election! The Texas AFL-CIO is a state federation of labor unions representing 235,000 Texans. They know, like we do, that Lydia is the best candidate in the race to fight for working Texans.
Lydia is the ONLY candidate in this crowded race of 23 candidates with any support from organized labor. Here’s what Rick Levy, the President of Texas AFL-CIO had to say about Lydia, “We know Lydia Bean – we’ve fought alongside her for jobs, healthcare, higher wages, and paid sick time. We know we can count on Lydia Bean to support our manufacturing jobs in Tarrant County, to support the PRO Act so that every worker has the opportunity to join a union, and make sure every family has access to healthcare.” Lydia understands that strong unions are the backbone of the middle class. She fought alongside organized labor to bring paid sick time to Northern Texas workers. In Congress, she will always stand up for workers’ rights to collectively bargain for better wages, safer working conditions, and job training programs.
