Our very own show with 10 chefs kicks off during Ramadan! Dear Supporter, Nothing elicits the warm feeling of home more than a nice home cooked meal. For centuries, Palestinians have been cultivating an extraordinary array of dishes made from local ingredients. Dishes using wheat and barley, thyme and parsley, olives, lemons, mint, pomegranate and fig are staples in the Palestinian kitchen. Over the generations, Palestinian culinary artists and home cooks have innovated common dishes and put a personal touch to the foods we love. That is why we are so excited to announce the premiere of our new show on Saturday, April 17th! - Turning Tables: Palestinian Cooking with a Twist, where we’ll be teaming up with chefs Reem Assil, Nadia Tommalieh, Dima Sharif, Suzanne Husseini, Lulu Abura, Nur Ashour, Mai Khader, Laila Elhaddad, Joudi Kalla and Yvonne Maffei. Our show host is the Emmy-nominated journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin. In each episode, we’ll be focusing on a popular Palestinian dish and see how our chefs make it with a twist! Watching Chef Dima Sharif make Msakhan will surely have you salivating, and Joudi Kalla’s Maqlooba will blow your mind! We want to thank our platinum sponsors: Islamic Relief and UMR; our silver sponsors: Tahini Street Foods, Hearthy Foods and Amana Mutual Fund; our media/marketing partner: Arabesque Media; and finally, our community organization partner: American Halal Council.
Be sure to follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram) for further exciting announcements. Sincerely,
