John,
We may be on the verge of passing comprehensive, once-in-a-generation legislation that will provide a tremendous, long-term boost to our country—rebuilding our nation’s crumbling roads and highways, and creating a solid foundation to build a country where everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity or zip code, can get a fair shot at living "the American Dream."
That means providing our communities with affordable housing, new schools, efficient hospitals, and state-of the art water systems that keep families safe. That also means creating a society that offers universal pre-k and childcare, providing the freedom for more parents to join the workforce, and that makes home care for people with disabilities and the aging affordable too.
You can't have a sustainable economy unless people's basic human needs of housing, water, food, healthcare and education are met.
RSVP to join CHN tomorrow, Tuesday, April 6th at 3 pm ET for a 30-minute webinar on how we create a sustained recovery that reaches all sectors of our economy—and people in every corner of our nation.
Even if you can't attend be sure to register to get a recording of the webinar and other resources.
We need legislation that will focus not just on "physical infrastructure," but one that invests in human infrastructure.
Click here to RSVP for Tuesday's conversation with the new president of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Sharon Parrott. The webinar will focus on how we will build a sustainable recovery by addressing the already existing racial, health, and economic inequities in our country.
Sharon’s extensive experience as an anti-poverty policy expert at the Center on Budget and as a former Obama administration official makes her ideally suited to show us the opportunities we should be fighting for.
While poverty has increased throughout this painful pandemic, more and more wealth continues to go to the richest 1%. We can more easily afford a long-term recovery when corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share and invest in our country’s future.
Together, we’re fighting for an equitable recovery that reaches all people, families and communities.
Thank you,
Nicolai Haddal Field and Events Manager, Coalition on Human Needs
Note: This webinar will be closed-captioned. Even if you can't attend be sure to register to get a recording of the webinar and other resources.
