Last week, the Montana House narrowly passed a bill that would make it easier for Native Americans to vote -- a bright spot among Republican-led voter suppression campaigns.

This is the kind of work that comes from our Native Program that actively seeks to center the voices of our Native friends and neighbors in our Democratic process, however, our work is far from over.

While we were able to advance this bill, the House and Senate already passed another bill that would eliminate same-day registration, harming our Native, disabled and senior populations most.

When we bring marginalized voices to the table, we’re able to work towards a shared vision of justice and opportunity for all.

But we have to continue standing strong against the tides of fear and manipulation coming from the right because if we slip up, they’ll use it as an opportunity to chip away at our democracy and give away Montana’s economy to huge corporations.
