Dear Friend,

Today's the day!

We are in the final round of our annual Bad Bill Madness campaign, a parody of the popular college basketball competition.
Hopefully you have been following along! We started with 16 state bills from across the country that we are pretty sure are BAD for church-state separation, we put them in a bracket, and invited supporters like you to vote on which bill is the worst.

We are down to two...

Arkansas' SB 289 - This bill would allow doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, and even insurance companies and employers to cite religious beliefs to deny patients necessary care during a scheduled visit or during an emergency. (Regrettably over the course of this campaign, Arkansas governor, Asa Hutchinson. signed this deeply damaging bill into law)

VS

Texas' HB 3326, which would allow women who have abortions and the doctors who perform them to be charged with assault or homicide. Note, in Texas, homicide is punishable by death. ("pro-life" smh)

Vote For the Worst State Bill of 2021!

Voting in this round will take place for the next 24 hours and we will announce the winner on our social media accounts, Twitter and Facebook. Thank you for your participation.

All of the bills featured in this campaign are appalling, blatant violations of the separation of religion and government and this campaign is intended to shine a light on the attacks against our secular government at the state level. The Secular Coalition for America is working hard to ensure bills like these do not become law at the federal level but we need your help to prevent them on the state level.

To take further action in service of our mission to strengthen and protect the wall of separation between religion and government please click the "I want to help" button below. Each dollar goes towards our advocacy on behalf of secular Americans like you!
Thank you!
